FAQ

How hot is it?

Medium-hot. Bold enough to wake up your food, balanced enough to keep eating it. If you want a hotter or milder version, sign up for the waitlist — more heat levels are coming.

What does it taste like?

Bold, layered, and flavour-first. Chunky pepper sauce with visible texture — not a thin hot sauce, not a chili crisp. Built on green and red Thai chili peppers, garlic, shallots, distilled vinegar, and a touch of brown sugar. Made to add flavour and clean heat without taking over the dish.

What's in it?

Ingredients: Green Thai Chili Peppers, Red Thai Chili Peppers, Garlic, Shallots, Brown Sugar, Sunflower Oil, Distilled Vinegar, Sea Salt, White Cooking Wine.

Ingrédients: Piments thaï verts, Piments thaï rouges, Ail, Échalotes, Cassonade, Huile de tournesol, Vinaigre distillé, Sel de mer, Vin de cuisson blanc.

Is this a chili crisp?

No. Chili crisp is mostly oil with fried garlic and chili flakes. Pepper Besties is a fresh, chunky pepper sauce — real green and red Thai chili pieces, garlic, and shallots, with just enough oil and vinegar to bind. You can see and bite the peppers in every spoonful.

Can I cook with it, or only use it on top?

Both. Stir it into stir-fries, fried rice, or eggs while you cook. Spoon it on top of dumplings, tacos, pizza, or noodles after. The flavour holds up to heat and shines fresh out of the jar.

How long does it last after opening?

Refrigerate after opening. Best within 3 months once opened, 12 months from production date unopened (stored cool and dry). Each jar has its production date printed on the back.

Is it gluten-free? Vegan? Allergen-friendly?

Our ingredients contain no gluten-containing grains. The recipe contains a small amount of white cooking wine as a flavour ingredient — see the back label for the full allergen panel. No animal products, no preservatives, no artificial flavours or colours.

Where is it made?

Made in small batches in Canada by two Asian-Canadian moms based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Cantonese roots. Sichuan heat. Canadian Tuesdays.
